This tabletop was a commission for a private residence in Canberra. The client's specifications were such that the design needed to be light in colour, earthy and be made from ceramic, so there was quite a vast scope to work in from a design perspective.

After an initial site visit I realised that keeping in with the predominantly Asian theme of the home was a must. I gave it a slight modern twist to it whilst maintaining a very reserved, elegant and cool feel.

The addition of gold tile accents and millefiori brought an additional interest in detail and gave it a little "bling" without overwhelming the overall impact of the design.

The table base was purpose made by Nyree Smith of Smith Art. All tile was hand cut and the mosaic was pieced together using the reverse-indirect method.
