Service Description

This two-day intensive workshop is an introduction to ceramic tile mosaics and an excellent starting point for those who want to study mosaics further or for those who just want to experiment with the medium. The workshop covers everything you need to know to create a mosaic that will last: safety, tools and their use, types of materials, substrates and adhesives suitable for both interior and exterior mosaics, setting tile, mosaic design basics, basic terminology and finally resources. Grouting is covered on the second day. Students receive handouts with information covered in class and will make a 30cm2 steppingstone suitable for outdoor purposes to take home. No art or mosaic experience necessary! Please bring lunch.
